YES TOMORROW: poem for Kate Newby

Swimmers, sand, and light at Freyberg Beach Wellington, morning, 13 May

I visited the Adam Art Gallery and came away feeling clean and fresh and light and a wee bit clever. The title of Kate Newby’s exhibition is YES TOMORROW. Itself a poem. Just had to mark the moment with a few words of thanks. But not too many. Don’t clutter up my mind…

Light as a note from a glass wind chime
Airy as a bubble of absent glass
Blue like a concrete sea

  1. Your words are a beautiful way to mark the moment!

Thanks Priscilla. They have to be simple, like the simple/not-simple work of the artist.

Just a passing shadow of her work

Well said, “don’t clutter up my mind”. LOL.

  4. Very neat

  5. Vivid words, like a haiku – just written some if you’ll excuse the shameless plug –

I did enjoy them Dave especially the last one. Iโ€™ve deleted the link from your comment because thatโ€™s my policy (otherwise the spam floods in). But donโ€™t worry, readers can find your haiku from your comment.

      1. Yes, that makes sense, thanks.
