People truck through phases. Shakespeare
Erikson and Sheehan all agree on that.
Young people rarely tell us
that they’re struggling
in the dark behind the mask:

Young people rarely tell us
that they’re struggling
in the dark behind the mask:
our eye skips down the centre
of a paper page
like a pebble over ocean.
You can see what lies ahead
you have perspective
and memory and speed
A kind man offered to develop my brand.
I said, I don’t think you understand
That I am extremely old
and way beyond
the need for a personal brand.
Old is a word that daily grows more vague
and more distasteful for the semi-old.
We dread the word because we dread the fact.
Older gives grammatical offence
