Cat thinkies — safety on the stairs

Ursula the cat knows perfectly well that she should use the handrail when descending a narrow stairway, especially at what she perceives as her advanced age. However, she still feels young at heart and so she is sorely tempted to slide down the handrail on her bottom.

  1. Hmmm. Would a mattress at the bottom help? I know, I’m enabling.

Or identifying? I remember sliding down banisters. The last time, in my sixties. So much fun.

Ummmm. Are you telling us something about your previous post? Are you ok?

    1. Rachel McAlpine says:

Christine, how lovely of you! I haven’t fallen and I almost always use the handrail. On the other hand, my knee is niggling so maybe Ursula was trying to help? No no. She loves “I told you so!”

Just watch out for any large post at the bottom of the banister! Since I have my trifocals I do have to use the handrail because I can never quite tell where the stairs are.

And that’s an adventure in itself.

Hi Rachel – Ursula knows her place in life … keeping an eye on you – still having that joie de vivre to do her own thing … what a great story that would be to write up, or talk about … and have fun with it. Take care though – cheers Hilary

I will pass on your kind comments to Ursula.
