Let it go! Tiny tip for well-being in old age

The peony lets go of its petals. We can let go of a grudge.

LA’s tip for well-being in old age? Forgive and let it go! What a relief that is. Also, see the advice that she applied from a young age 🙂 LA’s blog is Waking Up On The Wrong Side of 50.

Q. Imagine a younger person telling you they want to achieve a happy, healthy old age. Give your very best tip, in 30 words or fewer.
A. Forgive everyone. If someone has wronged you, let it go. (You don’t have to tell them if you don’t want.) Most especially, forgive yourself.

Q. Why did you choose to share that particular tip?
A. I think too many people hold onto negativity. Nothing ages you quicker than that.

Q. Did you follow any advice that you were given about achieving a happy, healthy old age?
A. Yes: Use eye cream from an early age

Q. How old are you?
A. 55-64

When it comes to life advice I like The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz. I found them years ago at a difficult point in my life and I’ve stuck with them. They are, my wording: Do your best, Don’t take it personally, Be impeccable with your word, & Make no assumptions.

Wonderful. How terrific when the right insight is delivered to us at the precise moment we need it. A life change for me was, “a thought is only a thought. You can think a new thought.” What a thought!
