Black roll of many colours

Drawing of canvas roll of coloured pencils

Strapped into a tight black roll, many colours wait to burst out

On a personal level, my purchase of a black canvas roll for coloured pencils was retail therapy, which for me usually happens in a stationery or art supplies store. I bought three new pencils for three flesh colours: until now, all my people were coloured peach or nutmeg. That meant my pencil tin was too small, so I bought a black canvas roll to store all my supplies for Bad Drawings.

On a global level, this picture resonates as a metaphor for Black Lives Matter, don’t you think?

Great drawing. Good metaphor for life. The colors within are waiting to be shared once you unroll yourself.

Yes. True of so many people. I aspire to unroll those colours with my eyes and ears and goodwill…
