Try a new blog: Jan Wilberg’s Red’s Wrap at redswrap.wordpress.com

If you’d like to try a new blog, visit Jan Wilberg’s Red’s Wrap.

Sometimes Jan writes about aging (honestly). Sometimes you’ll find a short poem. Sometimes a story about what’s going on in her life.

Jan’s writing is warm, witty and succinct. Each piece is no longer than it should be: I never catch myself thinking, hurry up! There’s a place for writing that takes its time, but Jan doesn’t chat, she writes. She doesn’t shout, either.

Red’s Wrap epitomises much of what I love about personal blogs. It looks so very simple and quiet and low key, on the surface. Just one person using WordPress on a digital device. But I am conscious that through her blog I’m getting privileged glimpses into the rich and complex life of a complete stranger.

Jan, thank you for sharing yourself through this medium.

Thanks. Great suggestion. I like her style and word usage. Clean, succinct, intelligent. I am now following.

I’ve been reading her for some time now. I will say this, though. Each blog post leaves me wanting more. Not because she didn’t bring her thoughts to a conclusion but because I am deeply interested in reading more of her thoughts. The recent post about her mother suntanning has really piqued my curiosity on this stifling hot summer day.

That’s a sign of excellent writing: when it stops we want more.
