Podcast, Instagram reels — where will this end?

Screenshot from an Instagram reel about finding very old role models. Rachel McAlpine in green spotty dress.

I don’t know where I’m going with this podcast and these Instagram reels but it’s fun. Let me give you a wee taste. Because if you’re reading my blog you won’t necessarily be acquainted with my podcast or Instagram reels.

Two bonus podcast episodes about a Sturdy Centenarian

“Bonus” means something extra that is a nice surprise. On a podcast, it means a episode between seasons. Mine are short and they don’t have guests, it’s just me alone. Anyway here are two, both about The Sturdy Centenarian. That’s a book I’ve written, based on a blog which Doris Carnevali wrote in her late 90s. Listen if you might be old one day!

Instagram reels about learning how to be old

A reel is a very short video that goes on Instagram and/or Facebook. They are fun to make and sooo easy compared with other creative outlets. Mine have two aims: to encourage you to think positively about old age, and to steer you towards my podcast, Learning How To Be Old.

I was going to repost one that went on Instagram today. But that’s tricky. So…

Well, it’s dinner time so that will have to do. I hope you enjoy a taste of what I’m doing in these two quite different social media platforms. (If you think this is kind of pushy, I’m so sorry. Just ignore, I’m still me.)

I’ve followed your blog for a while. Now I’m following on Instagram.

      That’s lovely news. Thank you.

  2. Thank you for your diligence in putting out that podcast…it is golden & rich – illuminating the path towards life as needs and abilities change. For life is all about change, no one is forever X years old! Seriously, you are one of my (s)heroes.

Laura, you have just given me a special gift, and just the encouragement I needed. Sometimes my confidence does waver 🙂
