Yes, living to a grand old age is wonderful when in good health. My trips to a local resthome/hosptial to visit Mum reminds me how it is a living hell and I struggle to see the purpose of not giving family and the person concerned the option at that life stage where there’s no communication nor even the pleasure of eating is happening any longer. Soul destroying. Life is just one large roll of the dice even when we do everything right. Fate has a weird sense of humour.
