Cat thinkies—playing the age card

Ursula the cat has quickly adapted to the idea of herself as old, seeing the benefits. A mere two weeks after her existential midlife crisis she has become even more demanding, as if to say, “Carer, do my bidding. Can’t you see I am an Elder, deserving of the utmost respect for my wisdom? You’ll be sorry when I’m gone.”

Well, it’s refreshing to see anyone coping with a mid-life crisis by pretending to be old. Many more strive for the hectic youth they think they should have had but didn’t. But really, Ursula. Use those claws to get a grip. You are far from old. You are entering the strange and lengthy state of middle age. Live with it.

I know a human who found the same ridiculous solution and it was impossible to budge him. He has flaunted his extreme old age for the last 29 years. So I will pass on your advice (Ursula admires Rickshaw) but don’t hold your breath.
