The Sturdy Centenarian: coming soon

Who needs to read The Sturdy Centenarian?
- You, if you’re curious or anxious about your own aging.
- You, if you’re old, almost old, or never-gonna-be-old.
- You, if you’re worried about aging parents or friends.
- You, if you want some new ideas about old age.
I’m revising The Sturdy Centenarian and removing the previous versions from Amazon. In 2025, we’ll have a new edition, easier to follow, easier to hold.
As a result, even more people will be able to read the words of a remarkable centenarian, Doris Carnevali. Her experience in very old age is both inspiring — and practical. I’ve abbreviated, illustrated, and popularised her original blog (with permission). The new edition will be a friendly, inspiring little book, and an easy and delicious read.
Mrs Carnevali’s words are almost guaranteed to raise your optimism about old age by a notch or two. You’re not alone! The Sturdy Centenarian is an extraordinary role model of positive ageing.
Start your own Sturdy Group next year
A Sturdy Group is a kind of study group, book group, or discussion group. Get a few friends together and meet 6 or 7 times to discuss chapters that you find interesting. Give yourselves a tiny little task for homework, if you like. If you want guidelines, there’ll be some with the new edition. But do it your way.
A thousand thanks, Donna!
